I had thought that there was a small chance that I would be able to fast today, but I knew it was going to be difficult because I had a lot of things to do.
I live in Austin, TX and it is really hot and humid during the spring and summer months. So going outside in those conditions can really take its toll on my blood sugar.
I was out of carrots, which had been very helpful in keeping my blood sugar in check, so I no idea what I was going to make that would be able to help me through the morning. Since wheat grass juice helps with blood sugar, I had that first.
I decided to go ahead and make an all-green juice and get back to the basics. I typically drink all vegetable juices, mostly green, with occasional carrots and squash. Squash and zucchini are really good for cleansing the colon, and they don’t have a high water content, so they are more filling.
Since my ankles were still swollen, I figured my body would need the extra water today. I decided to make it simple and made a juice with Romaine lettuce, celery, and cucumber, which are some are my favorites.
